Faculty IT Services is made up of the Faculty IT Units providing direct and specialised IT services and advice to their respective staff and students. These units are part of the Faculties and are located within them to provide localised services within the context of each area and to maintain strong ties with the researchers, educators, administrators and students.

Within the context of IT at UNSW the Faculty IT Units provide a range of local services to each of the Faculties. Examples include:

The Faculty IT Units are the main contact for Faculty staff for requests for new IT services and escalation of problems. The IT staff in these units work with Faculty staff to build the relationship with IT at UNSW and align IT with the Teaching, Research and Administrative goals of the varied Academic Units.
