The Student Managed Print Service provides A3 & A4, black & white and colour printing from many computer labs and general access computers across campus. Your UNSW ID card is your copy and print card.

How to print from a lab computer

How to send a document to a printer from a UNSW lab computer

When printing a document, select a print queue as below. Depending on the type of printer in your location, there may be one or more of the following print queues available to you:

Printing Queue

  • For A4/ A3 Black & White Printing: BLACK-PRINTER
  • For A4/ A3 Colour Printing: COLOUR-PRINTER

Faculty Print Queue:

  • • For A4/ A3 Black & White Printing: DEPT-LB001
  • For A4/ A3 Colour Printing: DEPT-LC002

How to print wirelessly from your own laptop or device

How to send a document from a wireless enabled device such as a laptop, iPad/tablet or smartphone:

1. Ensure you are connected to the internet via UniWide wireless network or similar access service.

2. In a web browser, go to https://wirelessprinting.unsw.edu.au

3. In the Username field enter your z Number. In the password enter you four-digit print password.

If you wish to print a document from your laptop, iPad/tablet or other wireless enabled device, click the File Print tab. If you wish to print a web page, click the Web Print tab (illustrated below).

4. Click the Select a printer... button and select from the list of available printers. Choose 'One-Sided' or 'Two-Sided' and the number of copies you wish to print. Descriptions of the different printers is listed in the previous section.

5. For laptop and device printing: click the Select files... button and navigate to the file or files you wish to print. Alternatively, on a laptop you can drag files directly to the web interface. Drop the files over the label Drop files here to upload as illustrated below.

6. Ones the print job is done, go to the nearest Release Station to get the print job. drag_drop_printing.gif print_queue_wireless.gif print_queue_wireless_1.gif
How to Release a Print Job at the Print Release Station

  1. Access the touch screen on the Lexmark Printer
  2. Press the Print Release Station icon
  3. Swipe your University ID card
  4. Enter your 4 digit PIN (or create one - see below)
  5. Select your print job/s
  6. Your current balance and the cost of the selected job/s will be displayed
  7. Press Print
  8. Press OK

How to create or change a Print Service PIN

How do I create a PIN?
When at the service spot, enter a 4-digit PIN when prompted at step 4 in ‘How a release a print Job at the print Job at the Print Release Station’. That provided number would be the print PIN for the future printing jobs.

If you have forgotten your PIN number you can change it online at https://recharge.it.unsw.edu.au


How to purchase print credits

Students, staff and visitors to UNSW may purchase print credits as below:

UNSW staff can also use the OSA9 form [pdf] to add value to their account from School or Faculty approved funds.
